Traveling Theatre is looking for teachers to help teach and manage enrichment programming. Well-qualified candidates must have an understanding or background in youth development, be a self-starter, motivated, organized, responsible, and enjoy working with children. Computer literacy, classroom management skills, and flexibility are strongly encouraged.
Reliable transportation is required. College, experience and/or degree preferred.
Current positions available are paid Summer training for Fall teaching opportunities. Candidates will have secure placements through December and for the right people, opportunities for growth and expansion within the company are available.
Teaching hours range from 8-15 weekly, mostly afternoons and some evenings for a bi-weekly stipend. Available work placements include enrichment classes in performing arts, visual arts, film, and vocational arts. Applicants with talent or background in these fields are strongly encouraged to apply.
Training hours are mandatory and run full-time for a weekly stipend.
Traveling Theatre is a nonprofit, educational, arts enrichment organization located in Providence, RI. Our mission is to create a community of highly qualified teaching artists who travel throughout the state, providing artistic experiences for youth that strengthen creativity, literacy, problem solving, cooperative learning, self-confidence, and the life skills to face everyday challenges.
