Elizabeth C. Cunha, Founder/Executive Artistic Director

is the founder of Traveling Theatre. She has a BA in Theatre and received her MFA from Rhode Island College with a concentration in Performance and Society. She has been seen performing on stages throughout Rhode Island such as, Barker Play House, Pawtucket Community Players, Mill River Theater and Rhode Island College. Elizabeth has produced and directed a multitude of plays and original works of which her favorites include How Far Have We Come, An Artists’ Jubilee, A Celebration of New England Artistry, Postively Aware, (Mis)perceptions of living with HIV/AIDS, Conversations With My 12 Year Old Self and From Birmingham Jail.She has studied under such greats as Jennifer Mudge, Bob Colona, Fred Sullivan, Jr., Wendy Overly, Jean Claude van Itallie, P. William Hutchinson, Pig Iron Theatre, Eva Marie Pacheco, Curt Columbus, Naum Panovski and Rose Weaver. Her passion for teaching the arts to students of all ages and abilities led her to develop the concepts and curriculum for workshops provided by Traveling Theatre. She has more than 18 years of Teaching Artist experience and one of her greatest desires is to establish an accredited public school in Rhode Island which will focus on education beyond the classroom for elementary and middle school youth.



Kevin M. Cunha, Managing Director/CFO

has more than 20+ years of experience in Electro-mechanical design engineering, process control, machine design and fabrication, building design and has multiple degrees, certifications and licenses in mechanical engineering, fire science engineering, robotics, environmental science and electromechanical engineering. He has worked for multiple leading engineering firms in Rhode Island, such as Cadence Science Inc, Interplex Engineered Products, Tyco Fire Products R&D Laboratories, American Power Conversion and Walco Electric Co. Kevin is an affirmed industrial artist who creates 3D artwork using metals, glass, plastics, and stone. His passion for various art forms led him to start Traveling Theatre with his wife, Elizabeth, with the hope of providing quality arts education to the children of Rhode Island. He uses his talents in engineering and design to construct environmentally friendly scenery and set dressings for productions, and teaches Traveling Theatre’s vocational classes; Young Inventors, Handy Kids "Go Green" and Mechatronics. Youth in these classes design and fabricate solar panels kits, electric mini cars and skate boards, environmentally friendly rockets and a array of "green" products to educate youth in science, mathematics and physics. Kevin looks forward to the opportunity to share his talents with students eager to learn about the various aspects of technical arts and theatre for many years to come.



Sarah G. Cadieux, Associate Director of Education

holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre Education from Emerson College in Boston, MA. Since joining Traveling Theatre in the fall of 2007, she has worked as a Lead Teaching Artist, Choreographer, and a production crew staff member for various enrichment classes and youth productions all over Rhode Island. Sarah is currently Traveling Theatre’s resident choreographer and lighting designer. As the Associate Director of Education, Sarah ensures that all of Traveling Theatre’s Teaching Artists have the proper training and understanding of the principles of enrichment education. Sarah also works with Traveling Theatre’s high school interns from The MET, and manages the Workforce Investment Act Program. Outside of Traveling Theatre, Sarah is a co-founder and designer/choreographer with the inProv inDependent Winter Colorguard unit and has worked as a visual staff member/colorguard instructor for the BMC Durfee High School Marching Band and New Bedford High School Indoor Percussion Ensemble. Sarah is also an independent contractor/crew member at the Zeiterion Theatre in MA.



Karen Boucher, Community Outreach Coordinator

earned her Bachelor's of Arts from Providence College. Before joining us in 2008, she served as the Director of Education and Outreach with All Children's Theatre, where she designed and implemented a Theatre Arts and junior summer camp curriculum. As Traveling Theatre's Outreach Coordinator, Karen oversees the organization's marketing, PR and event planning and serves as administrative assistant to the Executive Director and the WIA program. She was also the co-chair for our Encore Gala Event in May, and this past summer, she directed Traveling Theatre's six week-long summer arts enrichment camp.



Jeffrey Rosenzweig, Teaching Artist

graduated from Providence College in 2006 with a BA in English. He volunteered throughout college at an after school program called Garden Club, a class about growing and cooking vegetables, run by the non-profit South Side Community Land Trust. He worked with middle school aged youth during the summer before his senior year at a sleep away camp in Wakefield, RI. He spent his post-graduate year volunteering full-time at Bailey Elementary School in South Providence with AmeriCorps, through the RI Children’s Crusade. He has been instructing classes of all ages and mentoring high school interns for Traveling Theatre since January 2008. He is ecstatic to have found this opportunity to further his experience in teaching enrichment arts literacy and working at a non-profit.



Christina Cirillo, Teaching Artist

received her BFA at the University of Connecticut for Scenic and Costume Design. Since then, she has worked on adult and children shows at places like Oddfellows Playhouse, Broad Street Players, and The Nutmeg Summer Series at Connecticut Repertory Theatre. She sells her paintings and other creations at galleries in Putnam, CT, where she also taught her first class and loved every minute of it! Recently, she started her first Etsy account where she focuses on selling earth-friendly art, and “up-cycled” clothing. Christina is excited to be working at Traveling Theatre and can’t wait to collaborate with the best imaginations around!



Matt O'Brien, Teaching Artist

is new to Traveling Theatre, has a BFA in Graphic Design from Plymouth State University and is currently enrolled in Rhode Island College's MAT Elementary Education course of study. As a designer, he has lived and worked successfully out of Boston, New York, and San Francisco, as well as up and down the East Coast. When taking a break from design, Matt has enjoyed working in a variety of after school programs over the years, and this desire has finally ended him up in graduate school. An aspiring teacher, he loves fostering the learning process in young people and being able to take part in guiding their limitless potential. Outside of the classroom or art studio, Matt is an avid hiker, having thru-hiked all 2,000+ miles of the Appalachian Trail, and he has been the Head Referee for the Providence Roller Derby since 2007. Favorite color: Green.



Katie Travers, Teaching Artist

holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Theatre Arts from the University of Rhode Island. She is a recent addition to the Traveling Theater staff but is excited to join in enriching students education and lives through theater. Katie has an extensive resume on and off the stage, some of her favorite roles including, Rona Lisa Peretti in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Raymonde in A Flea in Her Ear, Maggie in The Shadowbox, Aunt March in Little Women, the Musical, and Gertie in Oklahoma!. She received two Irene Ryan Scholarship nominations for her performances in Spelling Bee and Flea at URI. Katie also has previous experience in stage management, house management and theater education, her most recent position was working as a Teaching Assistant/Stage Management Intern at Watertown Children's Theater on a produciton of Robin Hood. She was also a teaching assistant at URI for the Theater general education course. Recent roles include Julie 2 in Swingin' with Petula (The 1st Annnual Women's Playwriting Festival at Perishable Theatre" and Kathy in The Last 5 Years. She has been working with Kevin Broccoli on a few of his monologue shows, including the 7th 2nd Story Dark Night at 2nd Story Theatre, in Warren, RI.



Corey Arruda, Teaching Assistant

was previously an intern at Traveling Theatre while she attended The Met School. She graduated from The Met in 2010 and is now attending Rhode Island College, where she is majoring in Theatre with a concentration in Musical Theatre. Corey has been involved in theatre, music, and dance her entire life. She has studied the performing arts at All Children's Theatre, Warwick Museum of Art, Triple Threat Performing Arts Center, and The Community College of Rhode Island. Her passions include theatre, singing, and teaching children about the arts.



Danielle Conti, Teaching Assistant

holds a bachelors degree in Theater with an emphasis on acting from Armstrong Atlantic State University, in Savannah, GA. While in Savannah, she has acted on the local and university level in plays such as Hedda Gabler, Crazy For You, and Clue:The Musical. She has also written, directed and produced numerous short productions. Danni loves anything to do with theater, so it's not uncomon to see her behind the scenes, building sets or running lights. However, she is now most excited to imagine and create a world of learning through the eyes of children.



Kendra Rossi, Teaching Assistant

has been involved in the arts for most of her life. She is a freshman Liberal Arts major and wants to work with children in the future. She is a graduate of Durfee High School in Fall River, Mass. and a member of inProv inDependent Winterguard. She has danced for 8 years and has studied yoga and watercolor painting at Lotus Rising. Kendra is excited to be working with Traveling Theatre!



Justin Wilder, Teaching Assistant

recently graduated from Rhode Island College with a degree in Media Communications, Writing, and Film. While at RIC he acted in many short films, on stage in Woody Allen’s “Riverside Drive,” and with the group Un-Anchored Improv, in addition to editing for the school paper and interning at NBC 10. Justin has been doing freelance film work throughout the east coast, and commercial set work with The 989 Project based in Cranston. In his spare time he works on personal projects and with a group of filmmaking friends. He is pumped to be working with Traveling Theatre!



Emily Scott, Teaching Assistant

graduated with a degree in Marine Biology from Roger Williams University. She loves science and is excited to be able to put her passions to use in an artistic setting as she works with the youth from the Learning Community Charter School and the Providence After School Alliance. Emily is from Keene, NH and enjoys playing the banjo, the ocean, and scuba diving. She likes the opportunities for hands on teaching and learning that Traveling Theatre provides and is looking forward to working with more youth in the future.



Krystal Hall, Teaching Assistant

is a currently a student at CCRI and in the past has volunteered and performed at the Providence Black Repertory Company and Mixed Magic Theatre in The Dutchman and Frankenstein. In 2004, Krystal was part of the team from Hope High School that attended the American High School Fringe Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland. Krystal was part of the City Year corps in 2009-2010 and enjoys working with children and Traveling Theatre.



Lidi Chea, Marketing & Web Development Volunteer

is a graduate of Umass Dartmouth where she received a degree in Marketing. She started off as a Marketing & PR Intern in the fall of 2009 and has stayed on as a volunteer. In her short time with us, she has helped redesign various print and web media.
